With low admissions and a bombardment of foreign films, this weeks list sees only three Korean films hang in there. Still at number one is the loud and proud “World Invasion”. With all its special effects and stunning presentation the American hit manages to secure 253,942 admissions in a relatively quiet week for moviegoers.

As expected the massive Oscar winner “The King's Speech” has jumped to number two. Barley missing out of the top stop with 205,612 tickets sold this week. The film stars Colin Firth who has recently been included in Park Chan-wook’s current project “Stoker”, along side Nicole Kidman. The American dark fantasy “Red Riding Hood” is at number three. Produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and directed by Catherin Hardwicke, the film is loosely based on the classic fairy tale but also draws on Freudian interpretations of classic fairy tales. “Late Blossom” is the highest of the Korean films in the charts this week. It has just broken the million admissions mark and is being quite stubborn at the moment.

Darren Aronofsky’s “Black Swan” is also still rousing curiosity amongst the Korean public with just 109,158 tickets sold for this week and a more impressive 1,442,335 total. The only other Korean film in the top ten this week is “Shotgun Love”. This comedy stars Im Chang-jeong and Kim Gyoo-ri-I and is directed and written by Jeong Woo-cheol (“JEON WOO CHI : The Taoist Wizard” and “Cello”). Another American film makes its way to the number seven spot. “Morning Glory” has some big names in Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford, Diane Keaton, Patrick Wilson and Jeff Goldblum. This comedy-drama has had 86,831 tickets sold thus far.

“Beastly” is based on the Alex Flinn’s 2007 novel of the same name. The handsome Kyle has a dark side and after an incident with one of his classmates he gets cursed, making him less attractive. At number nine is the interesting war drama “The Way Back”. The film is set during World War II when a group of prisoners escape from a Siberian Gulag camp. The film stars Jim Sturgess, Colin Farrel, Ed Harris, and Saoirse Ronan in a story based in the book “The Long Walk” by Slawomir Rawicz. “Rango” attracted a mere 42,803 people this week and is looking shaky and in last place.
